First interdisciplinary symposium of the Vienna Doctoral Schools

14.09.2017 - 15.09.2017

The first joint conference of the Vienna Doctoral Schools "Interscience - 1st symposium of the Vienna Doctoral Schools" is taking place on the 14th and 15th of September 2017 in the Großer & Kleiner Festsaal of the University of Vienna! The fellows of the four Vienna Doctoral Schools of Physics, Mathematics, Molecules of Life and Cognition Behaviour & Neuroscience are organizing this interdisciplinary conference to broaden their scientific horizon.

Science is currently undergoing major dynamic changes that are driven by technological development. Every technological leap opens new doors, but no single discipline (let alone an individual scientist) can fully realise the tremendous opportunities for discovery that such developments offer. Modern science demands interdisciplinary networks of well-connected, well-educated scientists with a broad understanding of cutting-edge technologies beyond their own field of expertise.

The doctoral schools organise many activities in order to foster an interdisciplinary ethos within the university. One is the first interdiciplinary symposium Interscience, where the following world-leading scientists discuss aspects of their influential work.

The symposium is a joint event of the four Doctoral Schools, organised by the doctoral candidates of these schools.

Registration deadline: 30 July 2017
